Pantone unveils its 2010 color choice
Dec, 16, 2009
Posted bySo…Pantone(R) has declared the color for 2010 is PANTONE 15-5519 Turquoise, which has many interior designers and decorators sorta confused on how, if at all, to incorporate this color in a home.
My friends at Reincarnations Furnishings in NW DC, have been showcasing Turqouise for the past year, and NOT just as an accent color! This color can help warm up a room, even with more traditional furniture and accents. The store believes in the color SO much that all of the walls on the main level are turquoise. Not convinced?!
Here is the first one – and yes, the brown and gold still work with the turquoise behind it. It is as if the turquoise sorta becomes a neutral – weird huh!
The store has lots of vingettes with the red and black combination and turquoise. It feels like an upgrade from traditional red and blue combinations. The gold touches makes the space feel regal, don’t you think?
Last but not least – is the use of Turquoise and brown. These seems rather safe after the other two examples and this is the first setting where the turquoise actually comes off the walls – into the seating, floor rug and accents.
Hopefully this will give some ideas on Turquoise uses and hope your 2010 is as full of life as the color itself! (and in case you are wondering, it is a coincidence – my use of turquoise on this blog. Honest!)

i still love the ottoman in that picture though. i’m not planning on carrying any turquoise this year because even though panton says it’s in, there usually isn’t enough demand to order, say, 200 sofas in that color. maybe this is better for paint dealers.
These are my fav color combinations!! Yes!
