Roslyn
Ashford
is bringing new life into the DC/ MD community! Roslyn's
interest in decorating was initially sparked by her mother's
constant supply of design magazines and books at home. Those
years of studying color, layout and furnishings with Mom
helped Roslyn develop an eye for color and design. |

Roslyn
also developed a love for fabric from her Grandma Eula and Aunt
Gloria. Grandma was a master quilter, sewer and seamstress and spent
countless hours teaching sewing to anyone who wanted to learn while
Aunt Gloria managed her own dress-shop in Brooklyn in the 1970's.
While Roslyn didn't inherit the sewing gene from these three ladies,
she did indeed catch the creativity and fabric genes.
After
earning an MBA and working in corporate America, Roslyn decided
to pursue design. She put her design skills to use after purchasing
a home and spent a year remodeling and redecorating 'Her Old House'
- an 80 year-old bungalow in Silver Spring, MD. Now, she has transitioned
her personal passion to a professional career. Roslyn took the opportunity
to learn more about the interior redesign trade and is now an interior
decorator.
Personally
tutored by Lauri Ward, pioneer of the One-Day Redecorating industry
and founder of the Interior Refiners Network, Roslyn accompanied
the renowned designer on client consultations and learned how to
successfully refine any existing space in just one day. With creativity,
confidence and skill, Roslyn has turned her passion into a career
of managing an interior decorating business.
As
of August 2008, Roslyn is expanding her reach to offer edecorating
nationwide, and will soon hire designers to help the company deliver
quality design plans - on-line and on-time!
